We
can source a variety of different colours, sizes and shape of
t-shirt, and can offer both hand screen printed and direct-to-garment
(DTG) inkjet printed t-shirts.
Screen Printing
Screen printing is ideal for large graphical designs and is especially suited for printing onto cotton, making it the perfect choice for printed t-shirts. Unlike other methods of printing onto fabrics, screen printing is of the highest quality, and will not degrade when the clothing is washed.
The design is printed by covering the garment with a "screen" and applying coloured ink over the screen. The screen lets the ink through and onto the garment where required, before being carefully removed. Screen printing is applied one colour at a time and in addition, a separate screen is required for each colour. As a result while screen printing provides the highest quality result, it may be uneconomic for multi-coloured designs and/or small print runs.
Direct-To-Garment (DTG) Printing
Direct-To-Garment (DTG) inkjet printing is generally more suitable for multicolour or photographic designs.
DTG printing works by using inks which contain a ‘fusing agent’. When the design has been printed and heat pressed on the garments, the ‘fusing agent’ enables the inks to permanently adhere to the fibres of the fabric. This technique produces a high quality, vibrant coloured print that is extremely durable and long lasting. White coloured t-shirts are best suited to this type of printing, but light pastel coloured garments can also be used depending on the design.
DTG prints can be produced using most file formats e.g. jpgs, .eps, .pdf, .ai, .png etc. However, the quality of the image produced is directly related to the quality of the image supplied. Therefore, the higher the quality of the image, the better the print.
